A fairly fast bento I've made for myself today. I thought I should eat something other than hamburgers for lunch, so...

Bento # 734 Kumquat. Onigiri with tuna filling, wrapped in nori. Strawberry. Meatballs on skewer. More tuna-salad onigiris with furikake, hidden under a layer of carrot/ham/cheese flowers. Sugar snaps tugged into available spaces.

Some photos are best viewed large, especially the one with little bits of fluff pinched in my fingers. I was enchanted by the fact that I could actually see the fine ridges on my fingers.

Last night, I made cabbage rolls based off of a recipe from Vegan Lunchbox. However, I made some changes and they were pretty darn good.



I had a lot of leftover filling and not enough leaves, so I just shredded the remaining cabbage and mixed it all together which did not look appealing at all. Maybe I'll mix that with some potatoes in the future and make some sort of bubble and squeak thing.

I've moved to Japan to start my new job, and I've been here since Friday.

Starting around Sunday, I noticed that my face feels very weird, almost like when you get a bad sunburn and you're healing and your skin is about to start drying and peeling. It's a little itchy at times, and when I scratch it becomes a little inflamed, but it's not unbearably itchy or anything. It's only on my face, some on my neck, and on my earlobes @_@

The best theory I've been told is the change in water. It both makes sense (my face/neck/ears get hit by the water the hardest) and doesn't make sense (so why is there no similar, yet milder symptoms on the rest of my body? this is also why I don't think it's a product allergy - I haven't started using a new face wash or anything).

I don't think it's stress, because when I'm stressed, it goes to my stomach every single time. When I'm stressed, I don't get headaches or skin eruptions, I get stomach upsets. I also don't think it's a weather issue, because it's been the same temperature/weather here as it has been in my home state - it hasn't been especially cold or windy at all.

Any ideas?
